Eric is the Managing Director and founder of Rosetta Translation. Originally from Luxembourg, he holds a PhD in phonetics from Cambridge University and he started Rosetta in 2004, leading the company from his living room to being a leading international provider of language services with offices in Europe, Asia and America.
Eric is also a translator specialising in legal, business, and commercial translation from/into German, French, Luxembourgish. Before starting Rosetta, Eric has worked as a management consultant in financial services for Oliver Wyman.
After gradually extricating himself from day-to-day operations in the London office, he spent most of the time from 2010 to 2022 in China developing the Rosetta Translation Shanghai office, and in 2016 he played a pivotal role in the opening and running of an additional Rosetta Translation branch in Detroit (Rosetta Translation Inc). He now concentrates on providing strategic guidance and oversight for the company, as well as on the continuing development of the Shanghai and Detroit offices.
In addition to his managerial responsibilities and translation work, Eric is also a lead contributing author to the Rosetta Translation blog, where he shares insights, tips, and trends on translation, language and beyond. During his free time, Eric takes part in chess tournaments, end enjoys wine and craft beer tasting experiences.
